Last week, Barack Obama gave a speech in St. Paul announcing he had won the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. Because it was a weeknight and I had to fight traffic and rush home to feed Harper G, I decided not to go. But my amazing husband made a speech about the historic magnitude of the occasion and won me over. He had been waiting to get in since 4:00 pm. I went.
It was everything I wanted it to be. The crowd was exuberant. Obama was inspiring. The cheers deafening. It felt like we were on the verge of real meaningful change. What a breath of fresh air for my generation.

I so wanted to be there. But since the present administration has not helped the economy and our gas prices, I decided not to make the 3 hour drive. I am sooo glad you went. What a great thing to brag to your posterity about.
Looks like you guys really enjoyed yourselves. I'm glad you got the opportunity to go! And you guys do look fab!
Too bad I had a meeting or I would have gone with you. I could have been the only conservative there!
